PCB Badge

Last year's PCB Badge left a lasting impression, and this year, we've built upon that foundation by introducing an exciting new feature: Red vs. Blue Showdown! Attendees will be divided into Red and Blue teams, constantly attacking and capturing towers. The team that successfully occupies a tower will earn valuable bonus points.

But that's not all! You can also accumulate knowledge points by attending talks, visiting community booths, and even connecting your PCB Badges with others. Plus, you'll be able to play various mini-games right on your PCB Badge. And for all you animal lovers, we've got a Hacker Pet Game, where you can raise and battle your very own hacker pets. It's time to show if you're a cat person or a dog person!

Our event booth will have programmers available, so if you have last year's badge, you can update it with the new firmware. Come join us and explore all the fun ways to play with your PCB Badge!

Re:CTF

HITCON Re:CTF is bringing back classic HITCON CTF challenges to deliver a cybersecurity feast packed with excitement and fun!

Whether you're a cybersecurity novice or an advanced player, Re:CTF is tailored for you. This year, we're offering beginner-friendly guided challenges to help newcomers get started easily. Our goal is for every registered participant to solve at least one or two problems!

You can get a head start on the competitive excitement the week before the conference. On the day of the conference (R4 Day 2), there will be an exclusive sharing session where everyone is invited to discuss their problem-solving approaches and learn together!

And don't forget our special event integration: the PCB Badge! Combining "Red vs. Blue Base Station" and "Tower Rush" gameplay, each challenge is linked to a tower, allowing you to become the King of Hill in the CTF!

NFC Hacking

Recently, Taiwan has frequently seen reports of people using hacking techniques to tamper with Mifare Classic cards to defraud money. But did you know? This type of technology was already cracked back in 2008. Although officials attempted to patch the vulnerabilities, its encryption algorithm CRYPTO1 was completely broken again in 2015, rendering these cards completely devoid of security.

However, Taiwan still has a large number of venues using Mifare Classic cards to this day, including public transportation, residential buildings, office buildings, and even school access control systems. Many access control systems only check the card's UID, making card cloning incredibly easy.

This event is designed to reveal the truth behind Mifare Classic card hacking!

At the event organizers' booth, we will explain the card vulnerabilities and attack methods, and provide Proxmark3 devices for hands-on challenges to "clone access cards and unlock passage". Attendees who successfully complete the challenge will receive a limited edition HITCON Mifare Classic card!

Community Booth

The Community Booth aims to promote information security communities to the public. It's a stage for major information security groups to recruit new members and showcase their achievements. Participants can interact with community representatives, learn about the latest trends in information security, and explore opportunities to join these communities.

Village Booth

The Village Booth is a common event format at many conferences. Each Village focuses on a specific cybersecurity theme, using diverse formats like talks, CTFs, hands-on labs, and tool demonstrations to help attendees learn, get hands-on experience, and delve deeper into technical content. Here, attendees can not only experience various security applications firsthand but also interact with the hosting communities on-site to discover more content worth exploring.

Academy Booth

The Academy Booth aims to build a bridge between the vibrant HITCON community and academia. It will be composed of cybersecurity-related departments, research centers, or labs from various universities. The main goal is to promote mutual exchange and showcase cutting-edge cybersecurity research and educational achievements. Attendees can have direct conversations with academic institutions to learn about the latest admissions information and get updates on the latest developments and technologies in their academic programs.

Hands-on Soldering Station

Experience the fun of hands-on soldering! At our booth, you’ll find HITCON’s exclusive LED badges and all the tools you need. Simply solder two complete badges, and you can take one cool badge home. Whether it’s your first time or you’re looking to improve your skills, our staff will be there to help you complete your work and enjoy the satisfaction of electronic DIY.
